This is a long but very runnable climb of approx. 1.5miles.
On obtaining the trig point, turn left taking main path down towards electricity pylons. Shortly after you pass underneath the pylons you reach a path junction take the footpath to your right (290deg). Cross stile and then follow path down through fields, cross another stile and bear right along path traversing underneath Wild Bank Hill, continue straight on crossing through broken wall and continue straight on. Follow this main path heading roughly North as path starts to descend it then turns left, shortly after this take care to take a sharp right turn (bearing 46deg.) and follow path into woodland, this will lead you down to the Eastern end of Walkerwood Reservoir, continuing through the woodland along the way. Follow path back up on to Bridleway, crossing Brushes Rd (which follows the reservoir edge) and climb back along the Pennine Bridleway back along to the finish just up the hill from the start at SD 988003.
