Saddleworth Running Club has a strong Womens Section
There is a women's running night - every Wednesday 7:00 PM
We meet at Churchill Playing Fields either in the car park or, during the winter, inside - you'll normally see the light on.
N.B. On the first Wednesday of every month during Summer Time hours, we meet at Binn Green car park near Dovestones Resevoir - again, at 7:00 PM
We normally run for approx. 45 - 60 mins, at a steady pace - no runners are left behind.
Since I've fallen in love with Walshes my inov8's are gathering dust under the stairs. So, would anyone like to give them a new home and a new lease of life?
They look quite trashed thanks to the mud of the Howgills. However, they are fairly new so the grip is excellent.
I cant remember what style they are but they are the light weight race ones (black and yellow) so would make an excellent race shoe for someone. Perhaps one of our new lady members who have been road running on a Wednesday might fancy sampling the delights of off roading...
Congratulations to Janice Guest for her placing in theis year's English Championship. Janice finished 15 in the O55 category. A great result for someone who competes regularly for our club with no fuss and no expectation of glory. Excellent!
Congratulations also to the Women who made up the O40 team that finished 9th in the team championship.
I'm not entirely sure who made up the team but the race was the half tour of Pendle. Nicky Snook and Sue Hinde definitely featured but I'm not sure of the other one (or two).
